The Muslim community in Sydney has identified the security guard who was fatally stabbed during the mass shooting at Westfield Bondi Junction as Faraz Tahir.
He was a well-known member of the community and had been a dedicated member of the security force for over a decade.
In a statement, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community of Australia said that it was sad to learn about the death of Tahir, who had just arrived in the country a year ago.
He was known for his kindness and dedication.
In addition to being a part of the Ahmadiyya community, Faraz was also a contributing member of the organization’s charitable efforts.
On Sunday evening, the group will hold a vigil at Westfield Bondi Junction in memory of the victims of the tragic incident.
The group expressed its condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and vowed to support the community in the face of such a tragedy.
