In response to the ongoing radio rivalry in Melbourne, Kyle and Jackie O Henderson of KIIS FM talked about the topic on their show this morning.
They noted that the tactics used by the other stations, such as those from The Fox network, have been very similar to what they’ve been doing in Sydney.
The producers of the show informed Henderson and Sandilands about the various antics they’ve been doing on air that have been taken from their rivals.
In addition to their competitions, the show’s social media content has also been copied by their opponents. Recently, DJ Cyril appeared at The Fox while he was still at K&J HQ.
According to the hosts, an article claimed that one of the stations was ripping off various aspects of the show.
They noted that the rival network had even managed to get DJ Cyril to appear on air.
When asked about the situation, the hosts noted that the constant tension between their rivals can lead to some of the most edgier content being produced by their stations.
They then suggested that the other stations follow the same strategy and do the same old boring and uninspired things.
When it came to the topic, Henderson stated that she doesn’t subscribe to the constant hostilities because it’s either funny or ridiculous.
She said that as a grown-up, she doesn’t want to be involved in such games.
