Taylan May, 22, of the town of Penrith, NSW, was apprehended by the police on Saturday morning and charged with assault following an incident that occurred on April 8.
It is alleged that he punched a woman, who was a friend of his, in the leg and face during an argument inside a house in Sydney.
May has also been charged with stalking and intimidating another individual.
According to the police, they were informed about an incident that occurred at a house in Werrington on Monday, April 8.
It is alleged that the man assaulted a woman, who was known to him, and punched her in the leg and face.
He was then taken to the local police station and charged with multiple counts of assault and stalking.
The town of Penrith released a statement on Saturday afternoon.
In a statement, the Panthers confirmed that they were aware of the incident involving May.
They then stated that they had informed the Integrity Unit of the National Rugby League.
The club would not make any further comment at this time due to the legal nature of the matter.
