A massive fire broke out at a park in western India on Saturday, which killed 27 people.
The incident occurred in the city of Rajkot, which is in Gujarat state.
According to local police, the fire started in a two-storey building and quickly spread to other parts of the park.
It was a holiday weekend, and the park was full of children.
According to reports, many of those who died were trapped inside the building due to its collapse.
The district collector of the city of Rajkot said that it was very difficult to rescue the trapped individuals.
In horrifying footage, the firefighters can be seen struggling to clear the debris from around the partially collapsed roof of the building.
The owner of the park, Yuvraj Solanki, will be charged with negligence.
The police said they would be filing a case against the owner of the park for negligence, and the deaths caused by the fire would be investigated.
It took firefighters around an hour to douse the flames. Officials of the fire department attributed the fire to a short-circuit.
The police stated that the bodies of the victims were badly burned, which made it incredibly difficult to identify them.
The cause of this tragic incident is still unknown.
Indian Prime Minister Modi expressed his grief over the incident and offered his condolences to the victims’ families.
In India, fires are very common due to various factors, such as overcrowding and poor building practices.
