After four months, the police discovered various items of interest during their search for Samantha Murphy, who went missing on February 4.
The items were discovered in Buninyong in Victoria. It’s around 11 kilometers from where the 51-years-old was last seen.
The area was temporarily cordoned off on Wednesday while the items were analyzed. It’s not clear what the items are yet.
In a statement, the police noted that their detectives came across the items while looking for Murphy.
The items were discovered during a targeted search conducted by the police on Wednesday. It was assisted by the Australian Federal Police.
In March, Patrick Orren Stephenson, who lives in Mount Clear, was charged with the murder of Murphy.
The items were discovered about six kilometers away from where a murder is believed to have happened.
The discovery came on the same day that the authorities carried out a targeted search in connection with Murphy’s case.
Many searches were conducted by members of the public and the police, but they did not find evidence of her.
Murphy left her home at around 7:00 am on February 4 to go on a run in the Woowookarung Regional Park. She never arrived back.
