One of Melissa Caddick’s childhood friends has broken her silence about the mysterious disappearance of the wealthy businesswoman. Jodie, who was interviewed on Wednesday morning, said she has a couple of theories regarding the 49-year old’s fate.
This comes after Anthony Koletti, the husband of Ms Caddick, told 7News that he believed she had been murdered.
Jodie’s theory is similar to what he said. According to her, someone took her after she left her house because they were greedy.
According to Jodie, her second theory involves placing her childhood friend in witness protection.
During an interrogation, she reportedly spilled her guts and identified the other people who were involved.
Almost a year after the incident, Jodie continues to be confused by her friend’s disappearance.
She said she was devastated by the incident and was unable to believe that Caddick, who was a dedicated daughter, sister, and friend, could have done such a thing.
During the interview, Jodie stated that the past year has been a roller coaster.
She was last seen leaving her home in Sydney’s Dover Heights on November 14, 2020.
A day later, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission executed a search warrant at her property.
Her husband reported her missing a couple of days later. On February 21, some campers came across human remains and a human foot inside a running shoe at the NSW South Coast.
The group was on a beach when one of the campers came across the shoe.
The remains of Caddick have not been recovered. She was accused of running a Ponzi scheme and faking documents while operating her business, Maliver.
Some of her clients gave her millions of dollars, but she allegedly used the money to fund her lavish lifestyle, and in July, a court ordered that her assets be kept frozen until authorities could confirm her death.
