According to the Bureau of Meteorology, a cold spell is expected to affect south-eastern Australia and Western Australia.

The cold air coming from the Antarctic could also bring snow to the regions around New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania.

Temperatures are expected to stay below average until next week.

According to Weatherzone, a high-pressure system is expected to develop over South Australia after the cold front passes through the states of Tasmania, New South Wales, and Victoria.

It could bring cold weather and strong winds for several days. Daytime temperatures in the south-eastern regions could also stay below average.

Temperatures in Melbourne are expected to stay around 12 to 13 degrees Celsius until Thursday next week.

Sydney is predicted to experience slightly below average temperatures from Sunday to Thursday, while Adelaide could experience temperatures of around two degrees below average this weekend.

The temperature in Hobart is expected to reach just 12 degrees Celsius during the next couple of days.

In Brisbane, it could experience temperatures of around 8 degrees Celsius during the night of Sunday, and strong winds could make it feel even colder.
