A week after he disappeared from his family’s home in the Truganina suburb of Melbourne, 16-year-old Krishank Karthik was found.

He left his home in the morning and was supposed to attend school in the afternoon.

However, he never arrived at his local Suzanne Cory High School.

His parents reported him missing after learning that the institution had not been in session for two weeks.

The revelation prompted an urgent appeal to help find him. According to the Victoria Police, Krishank was found in the Penrith area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was reportedly reunited with his family.

His family had traveled to NSW to look for him after he was seen on CCTV footage in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

At this stage, the police have not released any additional details regarding the investigation.

During a 7NEWS interview, his aunty Mathangi Akhilesh said that the family had no idea where Krishank had been since he was supposed to be at school for two weeks.

Shobana, his mother, said that the family had been talking to his friends to gather information about his disappearance.

However, they have not been able to find him since Monday. She noted that the family was still hoping to find him.
