The former Disney star and singer Selena Gomez stated that she would not be able to carry a child due to her ongoing medical problems.

In an interview with the magazine Vanity Fair, she revealed that she planned on starting a family at the age of 35.

The 32-year-old also opened up about her 2015 diagnosis of lupus, which is a disease that attacks the organs and tissues of the body.

After being diagnosed with depression and anxiety a year later, it was revealed that she had been taking various medications for her condition.

In 2017, she received a kidney transplant due to her lupus. In 2020, she was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder. During a psychotic episode, she reportedly felt suicidal and heard voices.

In 2022, she opened up to Rolling Stone about her condition and how it could prevent her from having a safe pregnancy.

She noted that being on two different medications for bipolar disorder could affect her ability to have a healthy pregnancy. She also said that she would be open for adoption.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez stated that she probably would not be able to be present today if her mother had not been adopted. She also noted that she may still be able to become a parent through a surrogate or adoption route.

She added that she was expecting it to happen the same way for everyone. She noted that she is now in a better place and is thankful for the individuals who are willing to help her become a mother.

Some women go through a difficult and challenging journey in order to become a mother. For Gomez, she is not worried about the future journey and is focused on becoming a mother for herself.
