Lex Marinos, a popular Australian actor who had been a part of the country’s entertainment industry for over five decades, died at the age of 75.
He was born in Wagga Wagga and was the son of a Greek immigrant.
He is best known for playing Bruno in the TV series Kingswood Country and for his role in The Slap.
Over the years, he also hosted various radio programs, including Double Jay.
His family announced his death on Saturday, saying that he died at a “moment of his choosing.”
In a statement, his family said that he passed away peacefully at his home on Friday.
They thanked his fans and colleagues for their support.
They also noted that a memorial service would be held in the coming weeks.
He was born in 1949, in Wagga Wagga.
After graduating from university, he worked in the industry for over 40 years, with credits such as A Country Practice, Hard Knuckle, and Gillies and Company.
In 1994, he was given an Order of Australia medal for services to the performing arts.
He was also awarded the Centenary Medal in 2001.
