A cold front is expected to hit southeast Australia over the next few days. It will bring snow and hail to Victoria and Tasmania, while it will also affect NSW.
According to Jonathan How, the Bureau of Meteorology warned that people might experience wind chills over the weekend.
This weather system is expected to cause a bit of a surprise since it has been relatively mild recently. It will bring rain to the coast of Queensland and the southern part of Western Australia.
Meanwhile, a high-pressure area over southern Australia will cause winds to develop in the north and central regions of the country, which could trigger fire risks.
Mr How noted that strong winds will continue to affect the NSW coast, and surf conditions may be hazardous. On Sunday, rain will develop over the north coast of New South Wales during the afternoon.
The rest of the country is expected to experience similar conditions. The Northern Territory is also expected to receive more showers on Monday.
In Brisbane, there will be some clouds and showers on Saturday, and similar weather is predicted for the rest of the weekend.
Sydney is expected to experience mostly warm and mild conditions on Saturday, with showers possible.
However, the temperature is expected to drop to 17 degrees on Sunday due to the strong winds and showers along the coast.
In Melbourne, the weather will be “cold, wet, and windy,” with the possibility of hail occurring on Saturday and on Sunday at 14 degrees Celsius.
Hobart will experience similar conditions, with a high of 11 degrees on Saturday and snow in the southern regions of the state at around 200 meters.
Adelaide is predicted to experience dry and sunny weather throughout the weekend.
In Perth, the weather is expected to be warm and sunny on Saturday with a high of 27 degrees Celsius and a low of 25 degrees Celsius.
In Darwin, the fire danger level will be high on Saturday with a high of 35 degrees Celsius and a high of 34 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
