Tabcorp, an Australian betting company, has reportedly told its workers to return to work five days a week, as the company looks to improve efficiency.
According to an email obtained by the Financial Review, the majority of the company’s employees in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane were previously given the option to work a hybrid schedule.
Tabcorp posted job listings on its website, which indicated that the company’s culture would be built on the idea of bringing people together every day.
It also noted that it values flexibility, but it believes being together is very important to its success.
This follows Amazon’s announcement last week that it would require all of its employees to return to work full-time on January 2, 2025.
In a memo to staff, Andy Jassy, Amazon chief executive, noted that the company was taking a significant step away from its previous pandemic-era arrangements.
According to Jassy, the company’s new schedule will allow it to strengthen its teams and culture. It will also help employees deliver the best possible service to their customers.
