On Tuesday, Tony Armstrong, the beloved co-host of ABC News Breakfast, announced that he will be leaving the program. He said that his last show will be in October.
Before he became a full-time presenter in 2021, Armstrong worked as a fill-in for the program in 2020.
Armstrong said that he was feeling nervous about his upcoming departure. He then revealed that he will be retiring from the program on October 4.
He thanked the staff of News Breakfast and the viewers for their support.
Despite his lack of expertise, Armstrong thanked everyone who worked on the program, including the producers, his colleagues, and the viewers.
He also thanked them for their support during his three-and-a-half years as a presenter.
Since he started working on the program, Armstrong said that he felt like he had been on a “rocket ship.”
However, he also thanked his colleagues for their support during his time as a presenter.
He noted that he was not good at using the tools that he had been given.
Armstrong also thanked his fans, saying that he will miss them even though he will not be able to log in to their emails.
Although he will no longer be presenting the program, he said that he will still miss the couch.
He also thanked his colleagues for their support during his time as a presenter.
Following Lisa Millar’s departure from ABC News Breakfast earlier this year, the program underwent a change.
Long-time host Michael Rowland was replaced by Bridget Brennan.
