Jacob Tammer-Spence, 31, was identified as the man who fatally stabbed a talented rugby league player in Sydney’s inner west. He reportedly worked as a rapper in jail.
He was charged with murder after the incident, which happened on Monday evening in Marrickville.
At the time of the incident, Tammer-Spence was serving a 10-year sentence for various offenses. While in jail, he started using the alias Snoee Badman and uploading his videos to TikTok.
According to him, the music industry helped keep him occupied.
He then started making a mixtape called Three Bad Men, which was sent to various producers. These individuals would then create music videos using his voice recordings.
On Wednesday afternoon, Tammer was arrested in Concord. His lawyers did not apply for his bail, and it was later rejected by a local court.
Tammer-Spence’s lawyer, Deng Adut, maintained that the charges were significant, but he dismissed them.
According to Adut, the allegations were irrelevant since his client had merely been involved in a brief encounter with the victim.
The victim, Filihiahekava, was stabbed outside a Mexican restaurant known as Guzman y Gomez on Monday evening.
Paramedics tried to revive the victim, but he would not respond to their efforts.
At first, police noted that the two men knew each other, and they believe that the attack was not random.
The number 10 was the number worn by Filihiahekava for the team Mascot Juniors.
The community remembered him as a friendly and happy individual.
Following a vigil for the victim, flowers and candles were placed on Marrickville Road.
