A criminal investigation has been carried out following the death of a father and daughter in a rideshare car crash in May.
The victims, who were aged 41 and 12, died when their vehicle was hit by a ute at Milperra in southwest Sydney.
The driver and his passengers were trapped in the car.
The other child of the passenger, who was also injured in the accident, survived.
The rideshare driver was then charged with negligent death and misconduct while driving.
The man was granted bail and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
According to police, the daughter and father were in the back seat when the driver made an unsafe turn in front of traffic.
Dashcam footage captured the incident, which led to a collision with a Toyota HiLux.
The other driver was taken to a hospital in a serious condition.
The ute driver, who was 19 years old at the time of the incident, was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
Investigators noted that they’re also looking into whether the HiLux’s driver was going over the 70km/h limit when the collision occurred.
