The search for the body of Samantha Murphy, who went missing in February, has been called off after failing to find anything of interest.
The police had started looking in Grenville, near Ballarat, on Tuesday. She was last seen on February 4.
Patrick Orren Stephenson, 23, a tradesman, was charged with murder in March.
The search for the body was focused on a forest at Grenville, which is about 15 minutes away from Buninyong.
The phone of Ms Murphy was found in May in a dam’s mud.
Murphy, who was 51 years old at the time of her disappearance, went missing while running in Ballarat, in Victoria, last summer.
A spokesperson for the police stated that the search at the Enfield State Forest had been concluded. They did not find any suspicious objects.
The police stated that the investigation into Murphy’s disappearance is still ongoing. They are not able to provide any further details at this time.
Her disappearance led to an overwhelming amount of grief in the community, with many people joining search efforts.
Stephen’s next court appearance is scheduled to take place in November.
He is the child of Orren, who played for Richmond and Geelong in the Australian Football League from 2012 to 2014.
The prosecutors had requested a delay to the presentation of evidence due to the extensive amount of footage that they had collected.
