A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 hit Elmore, about 45 kilometers northeast of Bendigo, in regional Victoria, on Tuesday morning.
According to the Fosterville Gold Mine, which is 20 minutes away from the town, it detected a seismic event.
A magnitude 3.5 earthquake has been recorded this morning, with an epicentre at Elmore. so far there are 17 felt reports and no reports of damage.

A spokesperson for the mine noted that although mine-induced seismicity is a complex phenomenon, it’s related to the mining operation.
They assured that their employees are safe and are currently working on addressing the issues underground.
The Fosterville mine, which is the biggest gold producer in the state, started operations in 2005.
