A kind worker who saved kids from a playground after a water tanker crashed into it has been identified as 43-year-old Eleanor Bryant.
According to the Herald Sun, she died while trying to help the kids at the Montessori Pre-School in Riddells Creek.
She was a speech pathologist who had two children with her husband. No other kids were injured when the accident occurred. The owner of the company that owns the truck said that the driver might have suffered a medical problem.
Detective Christian Von Tuk described the incident as tragic. He noted that the playground was crowded with kids and teachers when the accident occurred.
He said it was unbelievable that only one person died.
According to Sen Sergeant Christian Von Tuk, the incident didn’t appear to be intentional. Although the kindergarten was not damaged, the tanker destroyed the playground’s play equipment.
He noted that there could be more kids squeezed tightly by the accident.
The company whose truck drove into the playground is known as McKenzie Water. Its owner, Alan McKenzie, said that the driver, who was 68 years old, had a medical problem.
He said the company was in shock and was offering its condolences to the victims and their families. As a family-owned organization, the company was devastated by the incident.

Jack Davey died following the incident that occurred at the Auburn South Primary School in Tooronga Rd, Hawthorn East, on October 29. Three other children, including a 10-year-boy, were also injured.
