A vegan bride is questioning if she was wrong to serve an all-vegan menu at her wedding after her relatives and brother sabotaged her plans.
The couple, who had been eating vegan for three years, decided to surprise their guests with an all-vegan dinner.
According to the bride, she and her husband intentionally didn’t tell the others about the food’s vegan status so they could have a good time.
The food on the menu was made with only the finest ingredients and was made to be satisfying and delicious regardless of one’s dietary preferences.
The couple worked with a celebrity chef to create a five-course meal that featured various vegan dishes.
The bride noted that she and her husband spent around $15,000 on the food alone. However, things didn’t go as planned. Her brother, Tom, who was supposed to be at the reception, didn’t show up.
Her cousins then delivered 20 large pizza boxes to the guests, who were told that the food was real.
The bride said she was embarrassed by how the caterers looked and how many of her guests had not tried the menu yet. She then confronted her brother, Tom, who claimed that the food was just vegetables.
According to him, the other guests could not go hungry.
The wedding was ruined by the pizza surprise, the bride noted. People took photos of the expensive meal and posted them on social media, and her mother-in law stated that the wedding was saved by the pizza.
The unhappy bride also stated that she cried in the bathroom after her husband asked Tom and his cousins to leave.
The incident led to a confrontation. Half of her family members claimed that the wedding was ruined because of our beliefs. They stated that we pushed our beliefs on everyone.
Some commenters also felt that the groom and bride were wrong to not inform the others about the vegan menu.
One person stated that the wedding was ruined because the guests were not informed about the menu.
They claimed that if the guests were aware that the food was not their preferred option, they could have easily prepared their own meals beforehand.
Others agreed that it was fine to serve vegan food at a wedding. However, they noted that the couple should have disclosed the details of the menu to the invited guests so that they could make informed decisions.
