Samantha Feld-Holmes, a talented makeup artist who had her work published in international fashion magazines like Vogue, has passed away at the age of 27.
Her loved ones remembered her as being “now at peace” in a heartfelt obituary.
A Life Marked by Bravery and Creativity
Samantha was more than just a talented artist – she was a survivor. She had been open about her struggles with endometriosis, a condition that had severely impacted her life since she was a teenager. The severe period pain had affected her education, with her school refusing to let her continue her HSC due to her attendance.
But Samantha didn’t let her health issues define her. She used her platform to raise awareness about endometriosis and other health conditions, including bipolar disorder and migraines. Her Instagram posts showcased her artistic talent, as well as her candid discussions about her health struggles.
Breaking the Silence on Sexual Assault
In a powerful statement on her website, Samantha wrote, “My body no longer keeps your secrets.” She had survived sexual assault and domestic violence, and her bravery in sharing her story inspired countless others to do the same.
Using Art to Heal
Samantha’s art was not just a form of self-expression, but also a way to process her emotions and experiences. In September, she posted a series of paintings that reflected the complexities of living with bipolar disorder. “Creating these paintings has been a cathartic experience, allowing me to express the duality of my condition,” she wrote.
A Life Well-Lived, But Cut Short
When she wasn’t working, Samantha loved to travel and explore new places. Her social media posts showed a young woman who was full of life and passion. But despite her bright spirit, Samantha’s life was cut short. She passed away on November 11, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, bravery, and inspiration.
Paying Tribute to a Shining Star
Endometriosis Australia general manager Natalie Rupil described Samantha’s death as a “heartbreaking loss.” Her friends and loved ones remembered her as a shining star who had touched countless lives. “Sammy, you were so loved. We struggle to believe that this is real. We will love you forever, and never forget you,” wrote one friend.
