Victoria Police are investigating two separate homicides that took place on Wednesday night, leaving two men dead.
The first incident occurred in Melbourne’s southwest, while the second happened about 45km south in Geelong.
Stabbing at Wyndham Vale Bus Stop
A man was found with fatal stab wounds at a bus stop near Haines Dr in Wyndham Vale.
Neighboring residents reported hearing an “altercation” around 8pm, and police were quickly called to the scene.
Despite efforts by emergency services, the victim died at the scene.
Two alleged offenders fled the area via Vaughn St before police arrived, and a crime scene was established. Investigations are ongoing.
Fatal Assault at Geelong Hotel
Just hours later, a second tragedy unfolded at the Sir Charles Hotham Hotel in Geelong.
An 82-year-old man was found injured in an upstairs room around 11:50pm and died at the scene. Police allege that he was assaulted by another man, aged in his 30s, who was also staying at the hotel.
The suspect left the scene before police arrived, and a search is currently underway to locate him.
