Radio host Kyle Sandilands has just dropped a bombshell on his fans, announcing that he’s undergoing urgent brain surgery after being diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.
The 53-year-old star shared the news on air during The Kyle and Jackie O Show, alongside his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
What Happened?
Sandilands explained that he was told by his medical team on Friday that he has a brain aneurysm that requires immediate attention.
“If you just tuned in to us after all these years, lap it up. And if you’re in Melbourne, you’re in the part, you’re coming to the party too late. You may get your wish. I may be dead,” he said, leaving his fans stunned.
Understanding Brain Aneurysms
So, what exactly is a brain aneurysm? Sandilands explained it in simple terms: “It’s not a blockage.
It’s like, imagine your blood vessel is the garden hose, and the garden hose is weak and it blisters out like a big bubble, you know, like a puncture in it, like a bike tire with a big bubble that bubbles the aneurysm, so it’s not blocked.”
He added that if the aneurysm bursts, it could be fatal or leave him severely disabled.
The Road to Recovery
Although Sandilands didn’t reveal when he’ll be undergoing surgery, his fans are sending him all their love and support.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show has been a staple on Melbourne airwaves since its debut in April last year, and fans are wishing the beloved radio host a speedy recovery.
