Her husband had taken their two dogs, Labradors Daisy and Loki, and her brother’s dog, a two-year-old Bordoodle named Buddy, for a walk on a grassy area near the Echuca Harness Racing Club.

According to Yvette, her husband saw the dogs with something in their mouths while they were playing but wasn’t concerned until their daughter found them in a “critically ill” condition in their backyard just hours later.

Just very horrendous… absolutely traumatic for the both of them,” Yvette described the heartbreaking scene.
The family’s world was shattered as they watched their beloved pets die on the vet floor within 15 minutes of arrival. “My dogs died on the vet floor within about 15 minutes… they didn’t have a chance,” Yvette said, her voice trembling with emotion.
“They were very happy, healthy and just gorgeous dogs that would never hurt a flea. Completely innocent in all of this.”
