Get ready to welcome back a familiar face to your morning and afternoon TV routine!
Veteran journalist and broadcaster Deborah Knight is officially returning to our screens, joining Nine’s News and Current Affairs team from July 21.
In her new role, Deborah will anchor the national 9News Morning bulletin every weekday, as well as present the 9News Afternoon bulletin in Sydney.
And, she’ll continue to host A Current Affair on Saturday nights.
A New Chapter for Deborah Knight
The 51-year-old journalist has spent the last five years juggling radio and TV roles.
She made history in 2020 as 2GB’s first female weekday talkback host and more recently, fronted Money News across Nine Radio stations.
But now, Deborah says it’s time to return to her roots.
“I’m incredibly excited to be stepping back into a full-time television role,” she said in a statement.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the daily news cycle and connect with viewers during these important bulletins.”
A Warm Welcome from the Nine Newsroom
Fiona Dear, Nine’s Director of News and Current Affairs, praised Deborah as “an exceptional journalist and a beloved figure on Australian screens.”
“She brings such warmth, intelligence, and experience to the role — and our audiences have always responded to that.”
Deborah’s radio fans might be a little disappointed, but she’s not going far.
Her final Money News show will air this Thursday (July 3, 2025) night, and a new host is expected to be announced soon.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in radio, particularly hosting Money News, and I’m grateful for the wonderful listeners who tuned in,” she said. ”
But I’m thrilled to continue being part of the Nine family.”
